Junior Payroll Administrator (12 month Fixed Term Contract)

  • Up to £17,500
  • 12 month Fixed Terms Contract (High possibility of this being extended)

A very successful business based in the Blackburn area are looking for a Junior Payroll Clerk to join their expanding company. Ideally you will have at least 6 months experience of working in a previous payroll position, on the job training will be given in order to kick start your career in payroll. You will have keen eye for detail and be able to manage your own workload.

Under the supervision of the Payroll Manager your duties will be:

  • Maintaining employee records and contracts of employment
  • Ensure that all payroll instructions are prepared and logged in time for the monthly payroll run to be completed for example; contractual variations, new starters, leavers, contractual benefits and staff benefits.
  • Delivering end-to-end payroll accurately and efficiently
  • Monitoring employee working hours
  • Issuing P45s and other tax forms
  • Processing holiday, sick pay, maternity pay and expenses
  • Issuing P45s and other tax forms
  • Maintaining employee records and contracts of employment

Training will be given on the above however you will need basic payroll knowledge!

You must also have excellent communication skills as you will be dealing with employees in all areas of the company.
