Overview:

My client is well-established online retailer with 12 stores across the UK. Going beyond traditional retail, their stores serve as immersive spaces for customers to try out products, receive guidance, and foster creativity. With over 30 years of experience, the company is dedicated to inspiring and enabling customers.

About the Role:

As the IT Manager, you will spearhead the strategic development and management of the IT infrastructure, overseeing operations across their stores, warehouse, and offices.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Steering the roadmap for the future IT strategy, crafting business cases, presenting proposals, and executing projects.
  • Taking ownership of system development dependencies and controls.
  • Managing project resources across various business areas and teams.
  • Ensuring the infrastructure facilitates service delivery through multiple platforms with the required resilience and performance.
  • Specifying system requirements and collaborating with suppliers to meet the company's needs for efficient and robust service delivery.
  • Staying updated on technical developments relevant to operations and participating in setting standards.
  • Ensuring the ongoing efficiency and currency of platforms by identifying and addressing areas requiring significant development.
  • Ensuring the scalability, performance, and resilience of systems, including adequate backups and disaster recovery.
  • Collaborating with 3rd party providers and internal data users to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy.
  • Working closely with the ecommerce technical lead and ecommerce teams to ensure the integrity of Magento 2 and other systems.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders, including staff from various departments and third parties.
  • Managing the IT Support team.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in running and leading small support teams.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with retail IT systems and reporting tools.
  • Track record of specifying, developing, and delivering IT projects.
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce platforms and integration with wider business systems.
  • Experience leading PCI compliance in a business of similar size and/or sector.
  • Knowledge of EPOS/ERP systems and Sage Accounting Software (desirable).
