Payroll & Purchase Ledger Manager

Based: Leigh

Salary: up to £25k dependent on experience

Our client are a rapidly expanding company based in Leigh, due to continued expansion they are actively recruiting for a Senior Purchase Ledger/Payroll Clerk to work across both teams and support them in purchase ledger processes and in-depth payroll duties

Having placed 2 staff members with the company previously, I know they are highly supportive with a fantastic, friendly team of 15 in finance


  • Processing payroll alongside a colleague - 400 staff monthly
  • Full control of payroll from start to finish - collating hours from timesheets/clocking in system and feeding into SAGE & Excel manually.
  • Producing monthly reports for the directors
  • Management of tax, National Insurance, benefits deductions, P60s and P11D's
  • Produce reports and managing pension uploads monthly
  • Payment of payroll to all staff by BACs, dealing with HMRC direct
  • Supporting Purchase Ledger team and supervising 3 staff members
  • Inputting purchase invoices manually to SAGE
  • Calculating accruals/prepayments for Purchase Ledger - stock/non-stock invoices
  • Assisting with wider finance team when required

Please note, to be considered for this role you MUST:

  • Have previous experience of managing payroll end-to-end (knowledge of pensions, deductions, P11D's and benefits)
  • Experience of Purchase Ledger - inputting high volume invoices and month end ledger duties
  • Experience of supporting/supervising a time - beneficial but not essential
