Manufacturing Financial Controller Immediate Start

Location: Wigan Salary: £60000 - £70000 per annum

A global Manufacturing business based in Wigan are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Controller on an interim basis (3months). The overall purpose of the role is to ensure accurate and efficient forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting as well as providing transparent information to operations management and group management that enables decision making and gives transparent business insights. You will also drive and support operational efficiency & process improvements across the business.

Alongside managing team of local controllers who support manufacturing sites you will be responsible for;

Business Development

  • Manage Balance scorecard and KPIs for BU
  • Preparation of CAPEX-requests & monitoring of CAPEX-projects
  • Support the identification, due diligence, planning and integration of acquisitions
  • Control all financial aspects of business projects in BU.

Represent BU in any group financial projects, including:

  • Implementing new and safeguarding financial procedures on site
  • Enforcing, developing and implementing group policies
  • Jointly with Central Financial Controller enforcing SOX controls at local level
  • Training, coaching, motivating and managing team to meet required performance standards
  • Ensuring close partnership by local factory controllers with local management teams
  • Performance reviews including setting objectives, informal/formal feedback.

Business Controlling

  • Collect, aggregate and provide management information / KPIs that are driving operational efficiency and process improvements
  • Early identification of 'off target' performance leading to corrective actions by management team.
  • Create focus on and drive costs & efficiency improvements, Net working capital performance and monitor investments
  • Co-ordination of monthly/weekly forecast
  • Monthly reporting (analysis of results, preparation of management-reports)
  • Preparation of full year budget, permanent budget-observation and evaluation of corrective actions in case of budget-variances (in close communication with Management).
  • Preparation of Management review meetings
  • Ensure compliance with all group policies
  • Ensure appropriate spending controls for each department e.g. R&D

Financial Reporting - working with accounting teams and central Financial Controller,

  • Support central Financial Controller in accounting activities and Month End Closing
  • Together with central Financial Controller prepare Annual Accounts for internal and external purposes ready to be certified by auditors of entities assigned.
  • Ensures accurate and timely reporting and explanation of financials to Group Controlling, CEO/CFO and RPM.
  • The Group Manufacturing Controller cooperates with a central Financial Controller to close the books, but does not focus neither himself nor in his team on closing, audits and SOX issues. This is the role of the central Financial Controller.

You will have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft applications and ERP experience required (ideally NAVISION). SOX experience or knowledge on Internal Control Framework as well as Report writing skills is an advantage. You will also have good knowledge of processes and systems, Costing experience, Materials controlling experience as well as US GAAP and local GAAP exposure.
