M&A Controller

Location: Stokesley Salary: £50000 - £65000 per annum

A thriving, high growth, PE backed business based in Stokesley, North Yorkshire are currently recruiting for an M&A Accountant. Whilst running the Finance department you will be heavily involved in acquisitions, business modelling, developing investments with the aim of turning the businesses into a top 5 leader within its sector.

Reporting into the FD and CFO you will be responsible for;

  • Detailed financial analysis of actual business performance and forecasted business performance
  • Responsible for maintaining, updating, improving current management model
  • Modeling the management base case, P&L, BS, CF, Cap Table, including modelling of impact of acquisitions
  • Responsible for timely and accurate monthly management accounts and operating performance reports across the group.
  • Responsible for re-forecasting of budgets from time to time.
  • Responsibility for accuracy of group results and ensuring good financial control and discipline throughout group
  • Providing analysis and commentary on the monthly results including variance analysis which forms a key element of the monthly Board Pack.
  • Responsible for all aspects of financial reporting and financial control.
  • Some liaison with the PE funder on internal financial reporting
  • Responsible for the control and management of the annual budgeting process
  • Involvement in M&A/corporate finance acquisitions with the responsibility to integrate financial processes and systems
  • Improve timely financial reporting, financial controls and related systems. Reduce the reliance on spreadsheets
  • Develop and maintaining efficient financial systems / controls
  • Responsible for a part-time team of 2 (initially), you will support and provide operational and financial advice to the business and play an important role in business growth
  • Re-forecasting of budgets
  • Ad hoc tasks and projects assigned by the CFO

In order to be considered you will be an ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified Accountant. The ideal candidate will have significant post-graduation work experience as an FC, then moved to a professional services or corporate advisory firm gaining experience in modelling and budget building in the private enquiry space. You will have expertise in controlling, reporting, budgeting, reconciliations and working with financial models whilst being highly competent in the use of Excel.
