Financial Controller

A private equity back business based in Cheshire have a newly created role for a Financial Controller. Working alongside and with the support of an experienced CFO this is an excellent opportunity to drive financial process, control and change to ensure that the business has an efficient finance function that is able to scale as it grows.

About the Role:
  • Manage the day to day Finances including line management of one Management Accountant
  • Manage month end, prepare full management accountants with commentary
  • Manage and execute the end-to-end audit process with external auditors
  • Preparation of the financial forecasts, and report variances
  • Weekly cashflow forecasting and monitoring
  • Analyse financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner
  • Assess and optimise financial processes and systems, ensuring they are efficient and aligned with business needs
  • Liaise with external advisers including auditors, lawyers, bankers and HR as required
  • Financially model new projects/scenarios
What we're looking for:
  • A fully qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a finance function leadership role
  • Ideally you'll have experience working for a PE backed company
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment would be advantageous
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and translate data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, detail-orientated, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • People management experience is desirable
